The Landscape of Prinseneiland resembles a battlefield where warehouses, residential blocks, freighters and private boats have attempted to establish its hegemony. In the end, nature has been the one to establish its slow but steady tempo on the inert volumes. Our project, like the vegetation with which it shares the lot, is fixed in the existing base to then develop the optimal way to enable it to attract the best lights and views of the surroundings to the interior. In this way, the interior becomes a sounding box where natural lighting and the variety of views generate a state of constant transformation. This factor combined with the orientation of the building, allows optimum use of daylight which is one of the most important elements of sustainability of the building. The versatility in the shape becomes also a functional versatility because, except for the nucleus formed by the service, the kitchen and the stairs, the space can be used in different ways. The symbiosis between the building and nature ends with the use of wood for the structure and covering the building using recycled materials.
